The Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket has unveiled its latest expansion, Extradimensional Crisis (A3a), released on May 29, 2025. This mini-set introduces a total of 103 new cards, spotlighting the enigmatic Ultra Beasts from the Alola region, alongside a selection of Alolan Pokémon and Trainers. The set enriches the game’s strategic depth with new mechanics and card synergies.

🧬 Ultra Beasts Take Center Stage

Extradimensional Crisis marks the debut of Ultra Beasts in Pokémon TCG Pocket. These interdimensional creatures, first introduced in Pokémon Sun & Moon, bring unique abilities and strategies to the game. Notable Ultra Beasts featured in this set include:

  • Buzzwole ex

  • Blacephalon

  • Nihilego

  • Guzzlord ex

  • Pheromosa

  • Kartana

  • Xurkitree

  • Stakataka

  • Naganadel

  • Celesteela

  • Poipole

These Ultra Beasts are distinguished by the “Ultra Beast” label, allowing for specific interactions and strategies within the game.

  • Buzzwole ex: A Grass-type Pokémon with the “Big Beat” attack, dealing 120 damage but usable only every other turn.

  • Guzzlord ex: A Darkness-type with the “Grindcore” attack, allowing energy removal from the opponent’s active Pokémon based on coin flips.

  • Nihilego: Features the “Mare Poison” ability, increasing damage to poisoned opponents.

  • Ultra Necrozma ex: The first Dragon-type ex card in Pokémon TCG Pocket, available through a limited-time event. 

Additionally, the set includes new Trainer cards like Lusamine, Gladion, and Looker, enhancing deck-building options.

To engage players further, Extradimensional Crisis offers themed collection missions and secret missions:

  • Ultra Beast Collection: Collect all Ultra Beast cards to earn exclusive rewards.

  • Quick as Lightning: Gather Electric-type Pokémon like Tapu Koko ex, Zeraora, and Zebstrika.

Secret Missions
